Arrested aussie claims israeli soldiers assaulted him with batons


The US soldiers then dragged the man out of his car in an altercation, according to eyewitnesses

In a video clip posted online the men can be seen attacking the man


Witnesses say a British citizen was assaulted while on patrol by Israeli soldiers during a weekend patrol near the northern Gaza Strip.


The man was riding in an unmarked car when two Israeli soldiers began throwing objects at him, according to witness and Palestinian Media Watch.


On his way to work at a bakery in Israel's northern coastal city of Ashdod on July 11, the man saw three men kicking and punching a man in the side of the road while filming the incident on his phone.


'One of the soldiers grabbed one of the men by the arms and pulled him to the ground,' witness Abu Hossam tells Quds Press.


'He put handcuffs on him. Another soldier then pulled the man's head towards his chest. They continued kicking him, and on a rooftop where we weren't seeing them, they took the helmet of an American citizen, hit him with a baton, and arrested him.'

The American man was allegedly forced to kneel on the ground and beaten by Israeli soldiers while on patrol (he cannot be identified for the first time for security reasons)

The man then claimed the men in the video were trying to grab him when he was 'beaten all over by these soldiers' in an Israeli military vehicle

The man's friend added: 'The man then says they beat him to the point that he felt pain and asked: 'Why? Why does my head hurt?' The soldiers replied: 'Why can't you tell us?' The man asked again, and the soldiers repeated this again and again.

'The man told them: "You don't like it when I have tears in my eyes because you did this to a US citizen and now you will beat me to the same fate,' he wrote.


'The man was detained while he still had his phone on and the officer in charge told him to turn it off or he'd be hit with another beating. The man turned it on, and on the video you can hear a soldier say: 'You are doing a terrible thing to my comrade, what kind of treatment have you received?'


'The man continued to point out to them that the men had pushed him and that he was a Palestinian and he said he was detained for six hours and they should release him after it was over.'
